Amazon built Chime as a business meetings service, and this is the Android client that hangs off it. Everything the app does depends on an account that someone in your organisation has already set up, so it belongs on a work phone rather than a personal one.
What it covers: scheduled and instant meetings with video, screen sharing for presentations, persistent chat rooms for teams, and dial-in numbers for people joining by phone rather than data. Meeting invitations open straight into the app, and a live call can be handed from a laptop to the handset when you need to leave your desk.
The rating is the story: a 3.0 average across more than a million installs is poor for a first-party Amazon release, and the complaints cluster on the mobile side rather than the service itself. Notifications arriving late, meetings that need a second attempt to join, and audio that thins out on weaker mobile connections all recur. Chime never accumulated the ecosystem of integrations that its larger rivals collected either.
