Editor's Review
Boots has been on British high streets for a very long time, and its Android app folds the shop, the pharmacy counter and the loyalty card into a single account.
Shopping and points: The catalogue runs across beauty, skincare, fragrance, toiletries, baby products, electrical goods and health lines, with the digital Advantage Card taking over the job the plastic one used to do. Points collect on purchases in store and online, offers load straight to the card, and the balance is visible without digging out a receipt.
The pharmacy side: Repeat NHS prescriptions can be ordered and tracked, with collection at a chosen branch or delivery to your door, and the app also handles booking for in-store health services such as vaccinations. For many people that section alone is the reason to install it.
Two caveats. This is built for the United Kingdom and Ireland, so it is of little use anywhere else, and the retail and pharmacy halves can feel like two products stitched together, with sign-in and identity verification steps that take longer than they should. A 4.38 rating across more than five million installs suggests most shoppers decide the friction is worth it.

Questions people ask
Do I still need the plastic Advantage Card?
No. The app holds a digital version that scans at the till and collects points in the same way.
Can I order NHS prescriptions through it?
Yes, for repeat prescriptions, once your account is linked to a nominated Boots pharmacy and your identity has been verified.
