A courier app has one job: tell you when the van is coming and let you change the plan. DPD's app does both. Parcels sent to your address are collected automatically once you link your details, each gets a one-hour predicted window on the morning of delivery, and on the day you can watch the driver's progress and see how many stops remain. Options to move a delivery to another day, redirect it to a neighbour or a pickup shop, or nominate a safe place all sit one tap from the tracking screen, and the photo taken at the doorstep is filed against the parcel afterwards.
The rating tells the other half of the story. At 1.95 across 5 million installs, this is one of the lowest-scored major logistics apps on the Play Store, and the reasons recur in feedback rather than being random noise: notifications that arrive after the driver has already been, delivery options that stop being editable earlier than users expect, sign-in and account linking that fails to pick up parcels the sender clearly addressed to them, and drivers marking items delivered when the customer says otherwise. Very little of that is fixable inside the app, since the app is a window onto the depot and driver operation behind it.
Worth installing if DPD delivers to you regularly, because the redirect options save wasted afternoons. Do not expect it to be reliable enough to plan a day around.
