That card carries an allowance for over-the-counter health products and, depending on the plan, groceries, utilities or other approved spending. The app is the account view for it: current balance, when the allowance resets, what has been spent and where.
The genuinely useful part is item checking. Eligibility rules on cards like this are narrow and rarely intuitive, and being told at the register that a product does not qualify is the standard frustration. Scanning a barcode in the aisle, or searching the catalogue before leaving the house, removes most of that. A store locator covers the retailers and pharmacies that accept the card, and orders can be placed for home delivery where the plan supports it.
One limitation stands out: nothing here is open to the general public. Without an eligible plan and an active card there is nothing to sign into, which is worth knowing before installing. The app also inherits whatever the plan administrator holds: if a balance or a card detail is wrong upstream, what you see is faithfully wrong too. Within those boundaries the 4.59 rating is earned, largely because the scanner solves a real and recurring problem.
