CaraMaps is a community-built answer, mapping aires, service points, campsites and free stopovers across Europe with photographs, reported prices and notes written by people who actually parked there.
The value sits entirely in that community. Entries carry the details this audience cares about, such as height barriers, surface, electricity and waste disposal, and they get corrected by whoever found them wrong. Coverage is densest in France, where the aire network is thick and the app has its roots, and it thins as you travel east.
The 3.79 average points at the predictable friction. Some entries go stale, closures and price rises take time to filter through, and the feature that matters most to someone already on the road, offline map access, belongs to the paid tier. That last one stings in a category built around being parked somewhere without a signal.
