Editor's Review
EAT CLUB comes from FUNKE National Brands and works as the app companion to the German food brand of the same name. The pitch is uncomplicated: a large, browsable library of recipes aimed at home cooks who want dinner on the table, sorted by course, occasion, season and dietary preference, with short video clips for the techniques that benefit from being shown rather than described.
Each recipe carries an ingredient list you can push straight to a shopping list, so a week's planning can be done in one sitting. Saving favourites and filtering by what you already have covers the rest of everyday use.
The obvious limit is language. Everything - recipes, measurements, units, search terms - is in German, and the app makes no attempt at translation. Metric quantities and German ingredient names will suit readers in the DACH region and frustrate everyone else. Within that audience, the 4.2 rating across 100,000 installs suggests a solid, unambitious recipe app that does what it says.
