Selfie cameras fall into two camps: those that fix a photo afterwards and those that show a retouched face before the shutter fires. This one belongs firmly to the second camp, and everything else is arranged around that decision.
In the viewfinder: smoothing, tone and shaping controls apply live, using sliders rather than a single beauty toggle, so the effect can be dialled back to something plausible. Filters preview in real time, and stickers and frames sit within reach of the shutter button.
After the shot: the editor covers cropping, brightness, blemish removal and collage layouts, with text and overlays for anything headed to a story. Finished images go out to the usual social apps directly.
The trade-off: a 4.81 average across 50M+ installs is high, though free apps in this category collect ratings at a scale that flatters them. The trade for all this is advertising, including full-screen interstitials between actions, plus camera and storage permissions that are unavoidable given the job. Push smoothing past halfway and skin turns plastic. That is a user decision more than an app fault, but the defaults do little to discourage it.
