An average of 4.86 across 100M+ installs is unusually high for a free photography app, and it says something about what people want from this category: a grid, a set of filters, and an export button that does not argue.
The collage side offers layout templates from two photos up to a dozen or more, with adjustable borders, corner rounding and background colours or patterns. Freestyle mode abandons the grid altogether so images can be scaled, rotated and stacked wherever you like, which is what most people reach for when a template almost fits but not quite.
Editing runs deeper than the name suggests. Individual photos get crop, rotation, exposure and colour adjustment, a filter set, blur and background replacement, plus a text tool with a decent range of fonts and a large sticker library. Output sizes are preset for common social formats, so a story-shaped layout needs no manual cropping afterwards.
The trade is the usual one for free creative tools. Adverts appear between actions, a fair share of the templates, fonts and sticker packs carry a premium marker, and the subscription prompt is never far away. None of that blocks the basic job, though a heavy user will feel the friction. Anyone needing precise layer control or non-destructive editing will outgrow it quickly; anyone who wants four holiday photos in one square, ready to post, will not.
