A bank app is judged in a narrow set of moments: checking a balance at the till, sending money to someone standing there waiting for it, and freezing a card that has gone missing. Banco do Brasil's app handles all three, and an average of 4.61 across 100M+ installs is a strong figure in a category where customers usually arrive already annoyed.
The core is account management for existing customers. Balances and statements, Pix in every form it takes including keys, QR codes and scheduled sends, boleto payment by camera scan, transfers between accounts, and card controls covering limits, virtual numbers and blocking. Around that sit the products a large bank wants to sell: credit lines, insurance, consortium plans, funds and pension products, with an in-app assistant for routine questions. Security rests on device registration, biometric unlock and transaction limits, all of which repay ten minutes of setup on the day you install it.
The obvious limitation:
None of this means anything without a Banco do Brasil account, and opening one requires Brazilian documentation. The interface is Portuguese in practice. It is also a heavy app that does a great deal, so the home screen carries more promotional tiles than a plain banking client would, and older handsets feel the weight. Anyone who only wants to send Pix has lighter options; anyone who banks with BB has no real alternative.

Can I open an account inside the app?
Eligible applicants can, but the process needs Brazilian identification and a CPF. Without those the app has nothing to show you beyond marketing screens.
Does the app charge for Pix?
Pix transfers between individuals are free under central bank rules and the app follows that. Fees attached to your account package or to other services are unaffected.
Why is no installer file offered here?
Banking apps are distributed through official stores only. It is a security decision, and side-loaded builds often fail the device checks the app performs at sign-in.
