Editor's Review
An insurance app earns its place by replacing paperwork, and that is the entire pitch here. Allstate Mobile gathers policy documents, digital ID cards, billing and claims into one account view, which covers most of the reasons a customer contacts an insurer in a normal year.
The everyday jobs are the strongest part. Proof of insurance sits on the phone rather than in a glovebox, payments and autopay run without a phone call, and coverage documents are readable instead of mailed. Filing a vehicle claim is guided step by step with photo upload, and the status updates afterwards inside the app, which removes the worst part of any claim: not knowing what is happening. Roadside assistance requests and the Drivewise driving programme, which scores trips and feeds a discount, also live in the same place.
The limit is plain and worth stating. This is a servicing app for existing Allstate customers in the United States. Without a policy and an online account there is nothing here to use, and readers outside the US have no reason to install it at all. Telematics also means handing over location and motion data in exchange for a possible discount, which not every driver will accept.
A 4.1 average across 10M+ installs is normal for the category, where complaints usually concern sign-in trouble and app-based claim handling rather than absent features.

Questions people ask
Is this usable by people who are not Allstate customers?
No. It is a servicing tool for existing policyholders, and it needs a policy number plus a registered online account before anything appears on screen.
Does Drivewise change what I pay?
It is a discount programme built on recorded trip data. Enrolment, how scores are used and what discount applies depend on your state and policy, so check the terms Allstate shows you at sign-up rather than assuming a figure.
Does the app work outside the United States?
Allstate writes policies in the US market, so the app is only useful there. Travelling abroad with the app installed does not extend any coverage.
