Editor's Review

Crypto exchanges are judged less on how they look than on what happens when something goes wrong: withdrawals, verification, support. Bitget grew mainly on derivatives and its copy trading product, and the Android client assumes a user who trades already, not somebody making a first purchase.

What it covers: spot markets for the major coins and a long tail of smaller ones, futures with adjustable leverage, and on-ramps that allow purchases by card or bank transfer in supported currencies. Charts run on TradingView, order types go well past a simple market buy, and price alerts arrive as push notifications.

Copy trading: the feature the platform is best known for. You browse ranked traders, inspect their history, and mirror their positions automatically using your own capital. That lowers the skill barrier without lowering the risk, and a leader's past record says nothing binding about the next position.

Where it gets awkward: a functional account needs identity verification, meaning documents and a wait, and there is no trading around it. Availability is regional, and residents of some countries, the United States among them, cannot reach the full platform. Leverage is presented prominently, which suits experienced traders and is expensive for everyone else. Fees, spreads and funding rates all repay reading before the first order goes in.

An average of 4.59 across 10M+ installs describes software that does its job for active users. None of it removes the underlying risk: prices move violently, and coins held on any exchange are held by somebody else.

  • Charting sits closer to desktop tools than most exchange clients manage

  • Regularly updated, with support reachable inside the app

Cons

  • Identity verification is mandatory for meaningful account limits

  • Not offered everywhere, and closed to United States residents

  • Leverage is pushed hard at users who may not grasp liquidation

  • Balances sit with the exchange, so custody risk applies as it does anywhere

Questions people ask

Is identity verification compulsory?

For anything beyond very limited use, yes. Bitget applies KYC checks and asks for government identification and sometimes proof of address. Unverified accounts face low withdrawal ceilings and lose access to several products.

Is Bitget available where I live?

Access is regional and shifts with local regulation. Several markets are excluded and United States residents cannot use the main platform, so check the current restricted list before depositing anything.

Is copy trading a safer way to start?

Easier, not safer. You remain exposed to the market and to a leader who may change strategy or take losses. The performance shown in the rankings is a record, never a forecast.

What does it cost to use?

Installing costs nothing. Costs arrive as trading fees, spreads, funding rates on open futures positions and network fees on withdrawals, all varying by market and worth reading first.
